Michelle Petronaci fights for the ball

After 4 years as a varsity player, senior Michelle Petronaci is heading into her final week of basketball season play on top of her game. She was a force under the basket yesterday with 17 points, powering Verona to an impressive 46-37 win over Millburn at home. Fellow senior Giana Pignatello, a lighting-quick guard with an uncanny knack for finding Petronaci under the basket, had an impressive game as well with 9 points and countless assists. Junior DonnaJo DiNorcia had 12 points, many coming off steals and fast breaks. The girls, with only one loss in league play, a 1-point loss to MKA, face the Cougars at home on Friday at 7 for the league championship.
