MyVeronaNJ-CensusWatch your mailbox: According to NewJerseyNewsroom, we’re going to be getting the questionnaire for the 2010 U.S. census soon. The forms will be mailed out March 15 to 17, and you’re going to see–and hear–a lot of appeals by Census officials and others in the state to fill them out and send them in. Remember, it is population that determines how many seats we get in the House of Representatives and how much federal aid we get for education, transportation and a host of other programs.

And if you need a job now, the U.S. Census Bureau is hiring field reps to gather data from people who do not complete their forms. That’s up to 22,000 jobs at $14 to $18.75 an hour, and the bureau says the flexible hours are good for people looking for part-time work. You can learn about opportunities here, visit one of New Jersey’s Census offices, or call 866-861-2010.
