The trails and parking areas in South Mountain Reservation are closed today, Tuesday, February 2 and they will be closed again on Thursday, February 4, for Essex County’s planned hunt to cull the reservation’s deer population. There will be marksmen in the park from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. The main roads through the park, such as South Orange Avenue, Cherry Lane and Brookside Drive, will be open, as will Turtle Back Zoo and the Codey Arena.
