Shabazian Takes 2nd In County

The Essex County Wrestling Tournament ended yesterday with Verona wrestlers advancing at every level, and senior Sean Shabazian going all the way to the finals in the 171 weight class. Though Shabazian was defeated in the finals in a close match against Joe Lombardo of Seton Hall Prep, he earned 2nd place in the County for his efforts.

Junior Colin Farawell advanced as far as the quarterfinals in his weight class, 189, but was injured in the match and unable to compete in the semifinals. Josh Held, at 119, Taylor DelColle at 145, and Craig Cundari at 152 all advanced as far as the quarterfinals.
