Alex, our much-loved shoe, purse and zipper repair expert, had a stroke 10 days ago. He is recovering now in the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, where his wife says he is walking and talking about the nurses. If you want to send him a card, drop it through the mail slot at the store.

Alex,
You fixed my tap shoes about 15 years ago so I could be in a production of 42nd Street. Guess what?! They still are perfect! I will never forget you even though I don’t live in Verona anymore. Get well soon!

Alex is back at work. Thank goodness he is OK. If you have not brought your shoes to Alex, they have not known love. He can make anything new again. I hope he passes on his art to an apprentice and that he keeps being able to work for many years to come. He is truly a Verona treasure.
