Verona’s own Bob Prout will be leading a seminar on residential solar power next week.
The talk, “Is Solar Power for Your Home in Your Future?”, is sponsored by the West Essex Park Conservancy and the Essex Sierra Club Singles Group. It will be held next Tuesday, January 12, at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland.
Prout, who is the director of the Prout Funeral Home in Verona, will talk about how he converted his business to solar power. He will also explain the rebates, tax breaks and general savings that earned his business the 2007 New Jersey Clean Energy Leader. He did this interview with CNN in 2008, when he had the panels on his business’ roof, but not yet on the retaining walls of his parking lot:
There is a $7 fee to attend the talk, but it is free to members of the West Essex Park Conservancy and Sierra Club. Advance registration is not required.
