MyVeronaNJ-Dave-Oster-leading-packVerona High School track star Dave Oster has decided to go to Syracuse University in the Fall. Oster, who recently participated in the 2009 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in San Diego, has also been named 2009 Essex County Runner of the Year. The Star Ledger has a write-up on his decision here.

Syracuse’s athletics program was recently ranked fifth nationally in the National Association of Collegiate Director’s of Athletics Learfield Sports Director’s Cup standings. That is the school’s highest ranking in its history, and NACDA singled out the school’s cross-country program in making the award.
