Caldwell’s town council held its annual re-organization meeting yesterday and neighboring news Web site TheCaldwellsPatch has all the details.
There are two new council members, Richard Hauser and Peter Murray, and Verona resident Gregory Mascera, a partner at the Verona firm of Bannon, Rawding, McDonald & Mascera, was appointed municipal attorney. There were also a slew of appointments to its planning and zoning boards, and several other groups that have counterparts in Verona.
TheCaldwellsPatch is also reporting that, as part of an effort to close a projected $1.1 million budget gap for 2010, West Caldwell announced plans to lay off two police officers and demote four others. The town is negotiating with the PBA to avoid police layoffs. (update 1/4/10: A tentative agreement has been reached.)
