The Verona Fire Department responded quickly to a house at 156 Linden at about 4:30 p.m. on December 31. The call shut down Linden Avenue between Woodland Terrace and Cumberland Avenue, but it did not appear to be as serious a situation as the two recent fires at 40 Kenwood Avenue and 6 Woodland Avenue. The trucks began to leave the scene at about 5:30 p.m.
